Nedunuri Krishnamurthy

He said he was singularly fortunate in having a `rishi’ as his
guru, and also in his talented sishya-s. The day he received
the Sangeeta Kalanidhi title, and this day were both very
special and unique in his life and indelibly imprinted in
his mind. Nedunuri also acknowledged the role of N.
Krishnamohan in sponsoring the Bhadrachala Ramadasa
songs.
The efficient compering by T.A. Venkateswaran added
colour to the function. It was a momentous occasion for
Nedunuri and his sishya-s who had taken great pains to
organise a function of this magnitude. The only point of
regret was the pathetic attendance by Chennai musicians
and rasika-s. Heavy rains were a deterrent on the first two
days. The third day, however, was bright and sunny when
the main function of honouring Nedunuri took place.
But for a handful of musicians, the music fraternity was
conspicuous by its absence.
Malladi Brothers’ brief and melodious concert, offered as
a tribute to their guru, brought the curtains down on the
function.
