The birth centenary of Chittoor Subramania Pillai was celebrated from 20th to 22nd June 1998, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Hyderabad. The festival was inaugurated by Dr. C. Rangarajan, then Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Sangita Kalanidhi D.K. Pattammal was honoured on the occasion. A Special Cover on Chittoor was released by the Chief Post Master General, AP Circle, on 22nd June.
