Bharat Nritya Utsav 2024

The closing
ceremony of Bharat Nritya Utsav 2024,
organised by Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, took place on 31 March 2024 at
Narada Gana Sabha. Renowned dancer Jayanthi Subramaniam was honoured with the ‘Natya
Kalasarathy’ title in the presence of eminent Bharatanatyam dancers Meenakshi
Chitharanjan and Alarmel Valli. Students of Jayanthi Subramaniam's Kala Darsana
showcased segments from their production Kallazhagar,
with the sabha's primary patron and president, Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, gracing
the occasion.
This 54-day
dance festival provided a platform for emerging talents from Kancheepuram,
Ranipet, Coimbatore, and Pondicherry. Featuring a total of 105 full-length
dance performances, the event engaged 63 dance teachers and 230 students.
Eleven dancers
were given the 'Best Performer Award' and another 11 with the 'Meritorious
Performer Award,' along with six duet performers, amidst the presence of young
and veteran mentors from the dance community in the auditorium full of rasikas.
Parishvanga Pattabhishekam,
a work of Anitha Guha's Bharathanjali and Cleveland Aradhana was presented as a
finale.
