Ritu-The sixth chakra

The sixth chakra in the melakarta scheme is called Ritu as we have six seasons in a year. They are Greeshma,
Varsha, Sarad, Hemanta, Sisira, and Vasant. These have been depicted in the inset in the top right corner
of the picture.
The painting depicts the six-faced god Shanmukha or Aarumuga, who is the embodiment of beauty. He is also
popularly known as Muruga, Skanda and Kartikeya.
