The grand inaugural concert was conducted on the
auspicious Ugadi day, 9 April 2024 in the Garden of Samskaras, Whitefield. The
evening began with a mini concert by the senior students of Sangeeta Jhari (Bhuvana
Srinivasan and Krishnaveni Ram). The
inaugural concert was by vocalist J. Yogakeertana accompanied by Arunachala
Karthik on the violin and K.K. Bhanuprakash on the mridangam.
The concert
began with Vallabha nayakasya in
Begada followed by the popular kriti Marugelara
and Padmavathy Ramanam in Poorvikalyani. Yogakeertana sang Syama Sastry's magnum opus Palinchu Kamakshi in
Madyamavati, followed by Harisasulu
vedale and Devarnama Baro Krishnayya.
The
concert saw a great turnout, with students and parents from Sangeetha Jhari, as
well as music enthusiasts from Whitefield and its surrounding areas, in
attendance. Unlike Bengaluru, the Whitefield area does not often host many concerts,
making events like this a welcome addition to the community.
