Bharat Kalachar conducted its 37th Margazhi Mahotsavam on 15 December. The Gnana Kala Bharathi was conferred on Chithravina N. Ravikiran (Dr. Mrs. YGP Memorial Award), while the Viswa Kalabharathi went to Ghatam S. Karthick (Kalaimamani S. Parthasarathy Memorial Award). The Acharya Kala Bharathi was awarded to Padmini Krishnamurthy and the Vimarshaka Kala Bharathi to S. Janaki. The Kala Seva Bharathi was presented to Mohanedass Delemourd (VeluMohan), and the Nadaga Kala Bharathi to V. Sreevathson (Sri YGP Memorial Award). The K. Balachander Trophy for Artistic Excellence, instituted by Kavithalaya Krishnan, was awarded to Suhasini Maniratnam. The Yuva Kala Bharathi honours went to R. Sai Vignesh, Preethi Sethuraman, Prithvi Harish and Vishruthi Girish (Vocal), Shreelakshmi S. Bhat (Violin), H. Vishwas (Mandolin), Shri Sainath S. (Ghatam) and Swathi Vignesh (Tamil Drama). The Natya Awards instituted in memory of Guru Ranganayaki Jayaraman were presented to Riha Giri, Shruthe Rammohan and Sundaresan Pandurangan (Bharatanatyam), and Kameshweri Ganesan (All Rounder). Special Commendation Award recipients were Sowjanya Suresh (Bharatanatyam), S. Kumar (Tamil Drama), and Sathvikaa Shankar (Bharatanatyam). The Bala Kala Bharathi awards, instituted by Sheela Unnikrishnan, were conferred on Akshath Piram (Bharatanatyam), P. S. Sudarsan (Bhagavata Mela), and Thiruvarur Kavin Prakash (Carnatic Music – Nadaswaram).
