Nostalgic about NGS

It was interesting to read about
Narada Gana Sabha, one of the
pioneer organisations to promote
many great artists and their
productions in the three fields of fine
arts. As a young girl, I remember my
sister Priyamvada’s performance in the
thatched premises of the Narada Gana
Sabha (on yesteryear actress Ambika’s
land). I cherish the photographs
taken on that day. I remember well
the discussion thereafter between the
sabha’s committee members and my
father, Dr. V. Raghavan, who was the
Secretary of the Music Academy. They
approached him with their proposal
to use the Music Academy premises
on a rental basis. At the Academy’s
campus, it was a golden period for
Narada Gana Sabha.
