Janasammohini Carnatic, Hindustani, or Pakistani?

My first encounter with raga Janasammohini in
Hindustani music was a recording of Bade Fatah Ali Khan, the torchbearer of the
Patiala gharana of khayal vocalism in Pakistan. According to the Fatah Ali, the
raga was originally taught to him as Siva Kalyan. However, under pressure from
the “Islamisation” movement in his country, it was rechristened Shab Kalyan
(Shab = evening + Kalyan = raga of the Kalyan family or parent scale).
