A torchbearer of Tyagaraja's musicaC tradition. A fine teacher with an impressive array of disciples. He moved to Chennapatnam to teach and the prefix of Patnam became synonymous with his name.
A postmaster in rendering rare raga-s. One of the finest exponents of madhyamakaia tanam. He was honoured with the appeffation of 'Begada' Subramania Iyer by the Martaraja of Mysore.
A creative genius, his compositions replete with prosodic beauty, are very popular in the concert circuit.
