Dear Film Lovers,

We invite you for our forthcoming film series on Music – Sound of Home / Sound of Heimat on Friday, 13^th April 2018, 7.00 pm at Goethe-Institut Auditorium.

The musician Hayden Chisholm, a New Zealander with Scottish ancestors, travels through Germany in search of a kind of music that seems to have been long forgotten by the Germans – real folk music. Hayden Chisholm and the two filmmakers discover a lively, true-to-life, unique and productive music scene, where anything stuffy and lifeless is foreign. Real folk music still exists, far removed from the trash and kitsch that is disseminated regularly on German television shows.

All are welcome, entry is free!

DIVYA TREIYAM

Shankarananda Kalakshetra, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Government of Telangana, and Dr Usha Rk , brings to Hyderabad, the much acclaimed Divya series conceptualised and curated by well known arts consultant and arts administrator, Dr Usha Rk

The program titled DIVYA TREIYAM , explores Divine concepts through Bharatanatyam.

Divya Treiyam looks at the divine resonances, attributes, vehicles and flowers, that define worship of the Divine

In Hinduism, Divinity or the Gods and Goddesses are often identified by their attributes, their vehicles, their weapons, the flowers they love, the colours they wear, the hand gestures
they use, the musical instruments they play, etc.

Dr Usha Rk conceptualised this idea and program - the Divya Trilogy , as an ongoing endeavour to introduce our
young dancers to an in depth understanding of some of these concepts - of Divya Pushpa , Divya Astra, and Divya Vahana

6 young dancers from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi will be presenting specially created individual presentations of 20 minutes, each on any one aspect.

Each presentation is deeply researched, and unique, and brings to the fore through the idiom of Bharatanatyam, ideas that permeate the worlds of the Puranas, Poetry and Prayer

The program scheduled on Sunday April 15th 2018 at 6.30 pm will present the following

Japaa Pushpa by Tanya Saxena from Delhi
Parijata Pushpa by Matangi Prasanna from Bengaluru

Divya Astraa :

Brahma Astraa by Pavitra Bhat from Mumbai
Sudarshana Astraa by Mithun Shyam from Bengaluru

Divya Vahana:

Garuda Vahana by Shivaranjani Harish from Bengaluru
Nandi Vahana by Rasika Kiran from Bengaluru

A single orchestra with renowned musicians will provide live music, to all the 6 dancers.

7th Edition of Bhilwara Sur Sangam, an annual two-day cultural festival organized by LNJ Bhilwara Group as a tribute to the heritage of Indian classical music.
